CMM Programmer
Inspection Engineering
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
We are looking for an energetic and outgoing individual that can program CMMs as well as teach and coach new users how to program and operate CMM software. This position works out of our Westlake Ohio tech center and requires some regional travel (Ohio and neighboring states).
Qualified candidates will have:
- Problem-solving skills: must identify and assess problems that come up in the measurement process.
- Computer skills: programmers and instructors must have computer skills to be effective in their job at loading software updates and diagnosing network connection errors. In addition to knowing how to operate a coordinate measuring machine, programmers should also be familiar with software application programs and macro programming technology.
- Mathematical skills: These professionals may use basic math formulas to analyze geometry and determine the accuracy of measurements.
- Communication skills: CMM programmers regularly work with other engineering or inspection team members to perform their job and must be able to effectively communicate their findings in a way that is easy to understand. And the training responsibility requires clear and concise communication of concepts related to measurement and programming.
- CAD skills: Must be able to use 3D CAD to program CMM measurement routines and analyze profiles. Candidates must also have a thorough understanding of GD&T and part print interpretation.
